The Icelandic banks used were FSA approved and they selected the banks which offered the best return with minimal risk. Let's be clear, the Icelandic banks had one of the highest safety ratings - the UK's own Financial Services Authority let down Christies with poor advice. They were not greedy, quite the opposite, the money raised by hardworking charity workers was kept in a safe place (or so they were told), which gave the best return. At all times, they were thinking about the charity and how that money was going to help the people of Greater Manchester - that is not greed, that is incredibly thoughtful.
